Road Commissioner Reports Major Infrastructure Progress in Green Garden Township
Highway Commissioner Hilliard detailed significant infrastructure improvements across the township during the September board meeting, including major paving projects and successful grant acquisitions.
Recent completions include the paving of Pine Ridge Drive and Oak River Drive, along with tar and chip work on 88th Avenue. The township has secured approximately $900,000 in state funding for its bridge fund this year, following last year’s $420,000 grant.
Current projects include a grinding project on 104th between Dralle and Stuenkel Roads, while future work will focus on the Sheer Road bridge and Dralle box culvert, with engineering now 90% complete.
The commissioner also noted receiving a $25,000 state grant for road improvements, which will be used for installing blinking lights on stop signs – addressing safety concerns raised by residents during public comments.
“These infrastructure improvements represent significant progress for our township,” commented Commissioner Hilliard, who has also assisted with cleanup efforts at Union Grove Cemetery, earning praise from local volunteers.
