Residents Call for Better Township Visibility as Renovation Plans Progress
The need for better township visibility emerged as a key concern during the September board meeting’s public comment session, with residents highlighting the absence of basic identifiers for the township hall.
“People don’t even know what this building is,” stated resident Linda Owens during public comments, advocating for temporary signage and solar-powered stop sign lighting to improve visibility and safety.
The concerns align with upcoming renovation plans, which include new signage as part of the broader building improvement project. Ron from TRIA Architecture confirmed that signage and flagpole installations are included in the construction documents being prepared.
The meeting also revealed strong community engagement in local projects, with residents Dean Christofilos and Carol Lincoln offering positive feedback about volunteer efforts at Union Cemetery and the township’s use of its comprehensive plan document in recent solar project decisions.
Looking ahead, Supervisor Murday announced plans for a Veterans Day celebration in November, calling for resident volunteers to help organize the event. The renovation project team from Harbour has also expressed interest in contributing to the veterans’ celebration, suggesting growing community involvement in township activities.
“The community’s input and volunteer spirit are essential to our township’s progress,” noted Murday, tying together the themes of visibility, engagement, and development that dominated the September meeting.
